I can't believe Beyonce and Lady GaGa look like they're releasing music next year and Britney looks like she's maintaining the 2 year refresh cycle.

Why are you even discussing the possibility of her releasing new music when it's still not confirmed that she renewed her contract? She's clearly not gonna start making a new album until she signs another contract.
I don't expect a new album very soon with a wedding on the way.

Do we even know for sure her contract is up?

As reported some weeks ago, former Island Def Jam executive LA Reid has been confirmed as the new head of a restructured Epic Records. As part of the major restructuring, Epic will take on many of JIVE’s artists including Pink and Usher who were both signed by Reid.
As a result of this, Britney Spears will leave JIVE to become a RCA Music Group artist as opposed to being a member of the RCA/JIVE division, which is now separating for JIVE to become a part of Epic Records, headed by Reid. It is worth wondering what prompted this decision for Spears to leave a label that she has worked so well with for more than a decade and what this will mean for long time chart rival, Christina Aguilera, who will become Spears’ label mate? Either way, this marks an interesting time for the ‘Toxic‘ singer. It certainly silences the speculations that ‘Femme Fatale’ would be her last album since a new contract with RCA would mean new music.

I love Britney to death but sometimes it's so ****ing frustrating to stan for her, luckily I have other faves other than just her, as much as I stan for Mariah, Michael, Janet & Gaga (causal fan) -- Britney is actually my #1. I don't want her to release another album if she's not fully committed to CONSISTENTLY promoting it through out the whole era.

The lack of promotion is starting to hurt her. She needs an extensive worldwide promotional tour and she needs to improve her performing skills even more. I'm not looking for prime Britney, but she shouldn't look as dead on stage, as she looked in this era’s promo performances (she was working it during the few ‘Circus’ promo performances and she looked perfect,) which hurt the album sales rather than helping them. The same goes for the scripted interview and documentaries. Her future releases need to be strictly early fourth quarter releases, so she can capitalize on holiday sales, and not just open big then fall. She also needs to be in shape around the album release, not like this era, be more involved with her work, and show more passion for her work in normal interviews, not just magazine interviews.

I don't expect anything about that anymore tbh. I remember during the Circus era some stans were saying that the next era would be much better when it comes to promo and performances and look what we got during Britney's supposed Ray Of Light era

I'm already 99.99% sure this is not happening.

I don't think she will do more promotion. She's pulling a Madonna, that means that her team thinks she can still sell on her name, without bothering to compete with the popular girls. And I think we have to get used to it. Her team is not looking for her to beat the current girls, but to be there, as a name, just like Madonna, and capitalize on touring.
The thing is, she's not at Madonna's level.

Madonna is doing SuperBowl next year (more promo than Britney has done since 'In the Zone' combined,) she's aware that she can’t sell based on her name alone. Even ‘Hard Candy’ had a worldwide promo tour.

Yeah, but the SuperBowl is a once-in-a-lifetime chance
Hard Candy had a promotional tour, with some shows, but that was part of her deal with Live Nation. She had zero normal promotion, like TV shows and that.
And she can pull at least 3 million copies worldwide with her name, Celebration is the proof.

This. It's too soon for her to pull a "Madonna". They are not at the same level, Madonna has been in the music business for 30 years and Britney only 13 years. Madonna's last studio album sold 4 million worldwide with only one big hit and she has a truly loyal worldwide fanbase. Also Madonna didn't get lazy at this point of her career. She kept working and gaining new fans for several generations.
I'm sorry to say this but Team Britney is just milking the few loyal fans left and they think this is gonna last forever.

Why do you keep mentioning a two year cycle LEM?
She hasn't had a two year cycle since In The Zone and Blackout. Blackout came out in 2007, Circus December 2008 (Single released in September), Femme Fatale March 2011 (Single released January). Not to mention she released a brand new single between Circus and Femme Fatale. She is going to have her year break, where she will do non music related ventures and come back.
She has kept a consistent release schedule, she has hardly taken 2 year breaks or Christina sized breaks. Yes, her promo is few and far between, but lets not act like she takes these mammoth breaks.

Exactly.
Even between ITZ and blackout she still had GH:MP and was working on The original doll. (which was scrapped but still...)
The circumstances between that break was also completely different to now with her out partying, the divorce, the breakdown, etc. I don't see her taking some huge break.

Two year cycles for albums -- but you guys are right. I don't know why I have this feeling we won't have another album until Fall 2013.

Didn't Adam said she was the closest thing to Madonna we had? It's not that they are delusional, it's just that they don't care. They don't want her to compete. She is already Britney Spears.
