CIL won 2 grammys, the other 3 were from other songs on the album. Try again.
And either way from Grammys to Rolling Stones Best Songs/Albums to Ascap awards, DIL clearly made a mark in the music world.

If dance music becomes popular, thank Gaga, if pop artists start using dupstep, saying that it was a Britney song that made it somewhat popular in mainstream music is a blasphemy?
Neither do I so why do you bring him up?

Dubstep was transitioning over from the UK to the states. Britney isn't responsible for it. Who it actually citing her as part of the reason other than her stans?
Your Gaga example makes no sense seeing as how the majority of Gaga's music is indeed dance. Is the majority of Britney's music Dubstep? Is the majority of Femme Fatale Dubstep?

Idk why Madonna and Britney are always lumped together. They're very different artists. Being blonde, sexual and singing pop songs is just what's at the surface level. They're different kinds of blondes, pushing different kinds of sexual buttons and singing different kinds of pop songs.

!!!!!
The allure with her when she first debuted was that she was an underage girl dressing like a provocative young lady, but once she became legal, nobody cared.
Anyway, unlike Madonna she never made an effort to push buttons or speak loudly like Gaga does now. Her music also is not as strong or memorable save for a hit or two. In all aspects, she's a (very) poor man's Madonna. The only she's got going for her against Madonna is that she's more famous than Madonna, but I can attest that it's for all the wrong reasons. Unlike the gud sis Madge, it's not her work or anything she's done in it that has commanded all the ink written about her.

The 2011 Britney Spears track "Hold It Against Me" was also responsible for promoting dubstep tropes within a mainstream pop audience

I never said she invented it. I was talking about mainstream music and pop artists using it.
Who is actually citing ANYONE as part of the reason?

It doesn't matter if the majority of their albums were dance/dupstep - the singles? no matter if The Fame had 5 or 10 dance singles and FF just one with dupstep, point remains.

Right, like bragging about Britney outselling Madonna or her having more influence than just about every legend possible.

Britney's image has more weight on pop culture. Music wise, Britney's influence is not that great as her fans like to exaggerate. As I showed, Britney's Trouble was similar to Madonna's Get Together. Madonna's Confessions was in a dance league of its own, entirely different than what Britney was doing at the time. Britney does not create trends, her team hops onto them. Till the World Ends is a perfect example.

I don't know why people try to say any song on Femme Fatale is innovative. That album is safe & calculated.
The only album that was innovative in pop this year is possibly Born This Way... the rest of the notables (Talk That Talk, Teenage Dream, Femme Fatale) are not. But even Born This Way isn't that "innovative", it just sounds different from the typical modern-day pop album.
But that's OT.

If you were Jessie J, would you dare speak that name? I still there was a mix up in the recording studio and it's actually Katy's vocals on Domino.

BOMT did outsell LAV. That's not saying that makes Brit a legend but it does say she was just as huge as Madonna.

okay so 2 were won with a song that was on a previous DC album. i guess titling it DIL 2 allowed for it to be nominated even though it was virtually the same song as DIL.

...what? I never said Britney has outsold Madonna nor do I think anyone has or even implied that. She has outsold all of Madonna's studio albums but obviousbly not overall. Britney is the 5th best selling female and Madonna is #1 -- their influence within pop culture is on the same scale and even Madonna is a huge fan and has the utmost respect for her.
I don't get why you're quoting me like I said she outsold Madonna.

The fact that it sprung up after HIAM proves she had something to do with it. It's Britney, it went #1, of course people listened.
Your opinion will not change that no matter how hard you try or how many times you disagree or say other wise.

I am referring to YOUR fellow stans since that's all they've been doing in here and since you were trying to throw shade. They;re the reason this thread is such a mess.

My opinion holds more weight than your lies.

Britney's new single Hold It Against Me – the first from her seventh album, due in March – has become something of an event. Demo versions have already leaked, tweets from Britney have stoked excitement, and her label has said there's only one copy in the UK (although that's just leaked too, so someone may not have a job in the morning).
But what's it like? Over relentless heavy beats and synth whooshes, Britney tries her hand at flirting ("If I said I want your body now, would you hold it against me?"), delivering lines usually reserved for ITV's Take Me Out ("You feel like paradise and I need a vacation tonight"). It trundles along nicely, the sweet vocals contrasting with industrial beats (courtesy of Dr Luke and Max Martin), before the whole thing has a meltdown around the two-minute mark, first throwing in some grimey, dubstep beats (Rusko is rumoured to be helping with the album) and then a smattering of rave chords before the chorus roars up again. Expect Madonna to release a dubstep-influenced album before the year is out.
