The UK is pretty huge for music, though. I mean, considering the US has 5x the population, we aren't fall off their sales in year-end album charts.

We loved her more than Rih. But the UK doesn't stan for meaningful music anymore, unless it's Adele. The majority stan for the generic trash of talentless artists. Just look at what was #1 in the charts this year...

It's true. Music culture in Italy is almost non-existent; the same 20-30 local artists (with very few new young entries and even fewer indie acts) are the ones who achieve mainstream success no matter what, international acts can sell singles, but very few can have a #1 album (Born This Way disagrees, and obviously Adele). When The X-Factor started to air here, it struggled to hit 10%. And an anti-talent shows' number one campaign started last spring, but the selected single didn't hit top100.

I would love her to release her next album around the holiday season. All those albums selling 100K+ a week...

Born This Way could have easily been a quick million seller in the UK if it had had release date + promo troughout the 4th quarter.

I think she's treating her singles quite well. Massive promo, good videos (SUBJECTIVE HEHE), etc. I think it's the music that's the problem. Gaga forgot that she's a commercial artist and that commercial artists have to put out commercial music if they want it to do well.

I don't think Interscope is too concerned. They have one number one single, an album that is selling well, and three Grammy nominations. I'm pretty sure they're happy and will allow Gaga to continue with this era single-wise if she wants to.

But why do you think the Born This Way era will influence her future success in a drastic way? I mean, it's possible, but the general public doesn't care... if the song/album is appealing, they'll buy it. Rihanna "flopped" with Rated R and turned off the GP, bu this didn't stop "Rude Boy" and then Loud from becoming hits.

If she wants to be massive again, she can do it. If she doesn't want, why would we?

She couldn't afford to underperform so badly.
Gaga has a stronger fanbase that is still supporting her even after all those mistakes, but needs the GP way more than Rihanna.

Yes totally agree. Album can easily up 100%. As what gaga sells right now is double or triple up the 10+k sell in Nov. Rihanna also benefited so much loud and now TTT.

They had to rush the change because she didn't have a strong fanbase. Gaga is fine as long as she has a supportive one... look at Britney and Madonna, they have been backlashed and have turned the GP off multiple times, but they're still here. Madonna has taken a lot of risks, has been preachy and political, so...

As I said, if she wants to be as big as she was, she knows how to do it; if she doesn't want, why should we? She's rich and powerful, a staple in Pop culture and has strong chances to be rewarded as an icon and legend by the future generations, it's not like selling more records will make her any happier than doing the music she wants. And I am happy when I see her smashing, it's not like I don't want her to be successful. But the fact is that she IS successful.
