BEST SINGLE
First Round
1. Countdown/All of the Lights - 15
2. N***as in Paris - 14
3. Pumped Up Kicks - 13
Second Round
1. Countdown - 18
2. All of the Lights - 17
3. Born This Way - 12
(Just missed, by one point - N***as in Paris)
BREAKTHROUGH ACT
First Round
1. Frank Ocean - 21.
2. Lana Del Rey/Foster the People - 19
3. J. Cole - 14
Second Round
1. J. Cole - 20
2. Katy B - 16
3. The Weeknd - 13
= Funnily enough, The Weeknd had the same score in both rounds.

Exactly but the quality can only be determined by everyone's own taste and preferences. That's why these lists correlate with the taste of the committee members. And that's why commercial success and popularity are better indicators of artist's greatness

Ugh, so close! Now I see what you mean about voting strategically. If I had known that Bey stans were sweeping this thing, I could have left "Countdown" off my second round list altogether and "All of the Lights" would have won.

Yes, true. But you're trying to say that the committee is biased, right? Only 1/6 of the committee stans for Beyonce. Only one third of those who voted her best album of the year were BeyHive members. The committee is diverse and not biased.

Countdown really wasn't satisfied with getting that #1 on the 2011 albums rate?
It's a very cool track but it's kind of strange to imagine that Countdown would be the best single of 2011.

Yeah Bey and Adele swept the awards.  at GaGa and Britney being shut out completely.
That was fun, Ace! Next year we need to make this a bigger event. For instance, even after we know who wins all the awards, I think we should announce the 4-6 highest vote getters before announcing the actual winners. The biggest surprise for me has to be Frank Ocean. Well deserved, though

= This goes back to what supaspaz said - no one had any idea what to do with this category; at least five people didn't even complete it. One Direction, Metronomy and Radiohead all tied for fourth.

Psh, YOUR decisions didn't matter? Looking through my original list, I completely whiffed on Best Album, Best Single, Best International Single (SLY didn't make it, but it was my #4), International Group, Urban and Alt/Indie, and chose one out of the top three chosen for just about every other category.
Then again, I would have been extremely (and pleasantly) surprised if someone like TV on the Radio was nominated for Best Group. And Best Album. And Best Single. And just about anywhere else where I COULD nominate them.
