Judas has yet to reach platinum.
BTW is somewhere like 3 million?
TEOG is 2X platinum at most (again I can't remember)
The YAI number is probably somewhat accurate.
Again, I don't keep track of those kinds of sales, but I do know the ballpark range they're near.

Those are WW #s. There's no way TEOG is only 2m WW :OOOOOOOOOO

Exactly. I wonder if Beyonce's or Britney's fans give them such a hard time, despite their albums selling far less than BTW.

It's just crazy and it sucks that the same three people can always cause meltdowns.

Guys, I know it's off-topic (and I probably gonna be reported) but I would like to share something with you guys. It's a very special quote from Beyoncé that comes in the Live @ Roseland DVD (mine just arrived today) and can give us a light in what is going on with Gaga.
Quote:
|
I really focused on songs being classics. I focused on songs that would last and songs that I could sing when I'm 40 and songs that I could sing when I'm 60. I feel that it's important that I start shaping my legacy and doing things that have a little more substance. I really want people to think when they listen to my music. I Want them to feel more than ''Ok, I'm at a party, I'm dancing...'' I Want it to be a conversation. I want it to help them through their painful moments, and their most happy moments.
|
This quote changes a lot of feelings I was having with this era. Gaga is on a good path guys, she is going to become a legend like Beyoncé herself, that's what is important in the end, right? That people knew that she was here, that she made a difference. I'm happy for Lady Gaga right now, and I think y'all should too. I'm proud.

If MTN doesn't catch on by April 2012, we can move on.
In the US, she's doing fine.
WW, she's doing better than fine.
Time to face the music.

But it's fun to see the positive people put the negative people in their places.

So true. The US is the biggest market, but Gaga is not just a US artist like other people. Doing fine WW is 100 times better than doing fine in just the US. The tour is going to slay in Asia, South America, parts of Europe, and Canada.

I want more club thumping songs with commentary about Fame.
It doesn't have to be about being drunk and partying, but I love dance music (not that BTW as an album isn't dance music, oh no).
I would prefer something that's less of an "Anthem" like BTW being about being 'btw,' or Hair being about your "identity," and more songs that are like Judas, Bloody Mary (not necessarily religious material, but artistic), The Edge of Glory, HML (perhaps a bit different though), Scheisse (without the gibberish).
I'm not really sure what I'm saying anymore, but you guys translate that to the best you can.

While I agree...Gaga doesn't want to betray her HOME country.
Kylie Minogue comes to mind when this topic comes....

well yeah, but if the us isn't as interested in her as other countries, she needs to capitalize on that. the us isn't here for rihanna's albums, so she's been focusing on the uk, which is here for her albums.
i thought kylie was only popular in AUS?

Pretty much.
Bad Romance was the perfect blend of experimentation and commercial appeal (though at first, it wasn't really commercial at all to most).
The only criticism I have for Gaga about any of her songs are these:
1. she should really try to spice up her ballads, better yet do more than 1 on an album.
2. be watchful about dragging songs out superfluously (See The Queen, Dance in the Dark, and some others).
Other than that, she's golden. ^^

No. She's popular in other places too (the UK mostly).
Her last album, Aphrodite, and all of the singles, did better in the UK than they did in AUS.
I agree that she should capitalize the other markets, but I really do think she doesn't have to sacrifice the US to do it, that's all. She's so busy.
