If Janet owes anybody for her breakthrough, it's Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, not Paula Abdul. If she had been so important for Janet's success, she wouldn't have gotten dumped after 1 album, and Janet wouldn't have gone on to have her most iconic choreography during the RN1814 era.

I HATE how people give Paula too much credit for Janet's dancing. I swear people act like Janet danced like Eline from Sinfield before Paula came along. Janet knew how to dance well she had been dancing since she was a child. If anybody Michael touch her to dance when she was young… Look back to the Jackson's variety show. She did jazz and tap back then. She was also on fame where she had to dance before Paula came along. Paula was a great choreographer but she showed Janet some steps she didn't teach her to dance. She only did the Control era. And the stuff Janet did during the Rhythm Nation era and after was better than the stuff Paula did during Control.
