Not many pop/rock artis t have a ten year career (Avril, Pink do); that itself is impressive in its own right; but she isn't Iconic like Madonna, Mariah, etc, sadly. Breakaway is a legendary era though, I can say that with full pride.

I'm sorry; but right now Lady GaGa is not iconic. She has had impressive start so far in her career yes, and the biggest pop star in the world right now. I don't think she is iconic just yet, lets wait if she her impact is lasting though.

Honestly, she's amazing, such a great personality and one of the best voices in music today, but let's be true, she's not iconic compared to Britney, GaGa, Ke$ha.

Besides, knowing KC all these years (and when I say "knowing" I mean watching her career go up n' down over the years) she wants to be an icon, but a MUSIC ICON, not a fashion Icon, not a sex icon, not a pretty face, she wants people to remember her for her voice and her music, because thats what she loves to do, perform.

Anyway, KC has had a handful of hits, and she's respected by so many people and other amazing artists have praised her over the years. I don't think she's an Icon per se, I believe she's an INSPIRATION
