Um, no. Those are legends. Exit the thread if you don't even know the definition of an Icon vs a Legend.

When you talk about iconic, Beyoncé encompasses everything that an icon should be. She's followed in the paths of other legends who came from groups -- Michael Jackson, Gladys Knight, Diana Ross, etc., and parlayed that into an equally (in her case even greater) successful career.
You know who Beyonce is. The strength of her catalog speaks for itself. The acclaim speaks for itself. Her style and fashion is copied by everyday women. She's culturally relevant in every sense of the word.
And unlike some of the women previously discussed, the strength of her success comes with almost a decade in the business as a solo star. Her iconic status was built over the course of her career.

I could be a biased opinion, but Beyonce is truly an Icon!
The world knows her name, which stands as unique.
Only four albums, and she still holds this tittle with 75 million sold.
Destiny's Child stands as the second best selling girls group (only behind the Spice GIrls) with 50 million albums sold.
Only artist to do such broad aspects of R&B AND Pop, and dominate in both.
16 grammy's.
'Nuff said. Try Me.

Neither you nor I can make that assumption, but the purpose of touring is to gain followers and get your name out there more. Katy did that.

I agree. NONE of today's stars are "icons" or viewed as such in the real world outside the stanbases.
Michael, Barbara, Madonna, Tina, David and a select others are the only musical figures with such a distinction. An icon is someone whose inspired and left an imprint for musicians of later decades to follow.
NONE of our faves have reached that level of respect yet.

If her tickets were as high as the other pop stars (like britney), they probably wouldn't sell anywhere near as much as they do at their current price tbh...

Actually a lot of people I talk to about music with see Beyonce as an icon in the general public. I just had a conversation with one of my friends yesterday and her exact words were "Beyonce is the epitome of what a star should be." And she is only a general music listener.
