R&B is dead for the most part -- but when an artist does R&B right, then the community WILL support that artist (i.e. Maxwell, etc...). Yeah, it might be a five year break between Discipline and her next album. Which will be refreshing compared to the one-every-two-years method she'd been sticking to, and hopefully it will be worth the wait.

Yup, she has been and will continue to do so. Mariah has never been a massive tour seller.

Yeah, but she's never had a (hit) ballad as a first single before. She tried it with "GTIG" and "I Want You," but those songs didn't get her very far. Did you know that The Velvet Rope only sold like 210K first week? Only 30K more than Discipline! And then AFY came and sold 600K!
