I know last year had unlimited deals for each item they put on their countdowns, but they ended up losing a bunch of money on their Susan Boyle $1 deal. This year, each item has a limited number of sales attached to it. I've heard the music portions will range between 1,000 - 3,000 copies. The items officially ends when the number of albums is purchased or the deal expires.
They are being done on a first come, first serve basis. You have 15 minutes to buy a copy, then it gets released or goes to the first person on a waiting list. I think they take up to 1,000 people on a wait list per item.
