Yes. It is getting more common recently for labels to release albums on the Sunday so that they will get a full weeks sales. I even think Florence And the Machine did it 2 weeks ago.

If they waited the Clear Channel for next month, WFL would be dying on radio and it would be actually a smart move to have YDO get those huge updates. Which promotion + video, it could reach the top with an ease.

The Clear Channel deal would be stupid if they had waited. The deal only works for NEW singles. The album would've been out already. The only way that deal can happen is if the album for the single has not ye been released. Otherwise it's not really "new".

WFL will be going platinum next week in the UK and is currently performing better than Only Girl which had a X Factor performance at the start of its second week. I can totally see WFL being Rih's biggest selling single in the UK and will pass the million milestone quicker than WFL, and this is without a X Factor performance. Don't get me wrong though, I also want WFL to be performed on the X Factor just so that its sales can be even bigger in the long run but oh well.

We were just talking about UK, now you're talking about US. I agree that they shouldn't have released YDO so early, but they did it we need to accept it and support the NEW single and not let it flop just because we want the first single to sell more.

Not necessarily. 'YDO' would still be a new single.

YDO, being the lukewarm song it is, will kill the hype of WFL.

Just gotta say, I love the album! It's my favorite album from her since GGGB. I love pretty much the whole album, but my favorites are: YDO, WHYB, Farewell, DOL, RMO, and TTT.
