I seriously doubt Gaga will leave behind a discography half as impressive or long-lasting as Madonna, so to say she's better than Madonna is a stretch. Not to mention Gaga emulates a lot of Madonna's shock tactics.

That being said, Madonna's new song is **** and it's not surprising. Her desperate need to cling to her youth has been her Achilles' heel creatively for some time now. We used to talk about that in the very first BTW thread...

I think Gaga has a lot more going for her musically than Madonna. She's young and determined to use her own skill instead of letting a bunch of professionals nurture her. So, of course she's going to make mistakes. I think she has a lot more potential.

Gaga will certainly end up with an impressive finish I'm sure, for the digital era. That's assuming her next albums are somewhat commercial.

Madonna, on the other hand, seems to be releasing this song now just because of Lady Gaga's big relevance. Not sure if I'm misinterpreting her moves, but it was a random "leak" and the song sucks. They clearly didnt spend much time on it.

I'm not talking about albums. I mean quality pop songs that will be remembered and played 30 years from now.

As for the Madonna single... The final product will probably be catchy but eh. I don't think it's anything to worry about, especially in regards to Gaga. Most of the people who used the Madonna card when BTW came out probably never liked Madonna in the first place.
