None of these stans have the rights to come at Gaga's album sales this year, unless their fave is Adele, of course

Katy's and Rihanna's songs and videos are more interesting than GaGa's this era, generic or not.
Born This Way is an album an artist makes years down the line, not on her second "official" release.

I really don't find anything interesting about "We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place. We found love in a hopeless place." I do like the song, though. xD
I think you mean more accessible or more friendly to the general pop/dance lover. Interesting is definitely not the right adjective, because, I mean, BTW has some of the most diverse and sonically and melodically interesting songs of Gaga's career imo.

It's all about the music.
Rihanna and Katy Perry are successful right now 'cause they're churning out #1 hit after #1 hit. Y&I can't compete with songs like LFN or WFL.

Gaga isn't "fighting to control" anything. How many times has she herself said that music is not a competition? Yes she wants to sell as much as she can, and promotes her ass off, but it's not for some sort of world domination. If she wanted that she would never have released Born This Way, she would have released TFM 2.0. She said it was a huge risk releasing BTW at this time in her career, she knew what she was doing.
It's only fans that seem to think it's some sort of last woman standing contest with only one victor. There is room for all of them, let them have their own space. Let Katy make the happy pop bubblegum chart toppers, let Taylor make the tween Country, let RIhanna do her sexbomb thing, let Gaga be the adventurous one trying new **** and keeping everyone guessing, including her fans, some of whom obviously don't like it very much.

Lyrically, the stuff on BTW isn't really that complex either. I think GaGa is a more interesting (personality wise) and talented artist compared to those two, and anyone who disagrees are just haters. There is a reason why she is praised and recognized more than those two, but GaGa is missing something this era. She needs to realize that she is still a pop star.

@girlvillain, you need the general public to keep going without them, you just will have a cult of fans and that's not enough to be relevant, one of the major reasons why GaGa was so huge in the past is because the general public was interested on her, if you think the fans are all an artist need to keep going then you don't know anything about longevity!

This conversation is fairly irrelevant anyway, given how her next album will be more like TFM, according to Jeff. BTW was a great experiment for her, however. I think it will have taught her a lot about single choices. The album has been a great success, but with the correct handling of singles and control of music videos, she could have made it even bigger

The general public hasn't cared about Madonna in how many years? Right. Fanbases are what keep you relevant long after the general public stops caring.

I think that might be the problem, but I can't elaborate too much 'cause I'm not inside of Gaga's head.

Nicole, you're not here for BTW, but do you still respect her as an artist and person?

TEOG was on Power Rotation at Z100, and got played 17 times a few days. On KIIS, the most it ever got was 6.
For Y&I, it managed 10 spins on Z100 some days, and 9 spins on KIIS at its maximum.

He said that?
I'm here for that, with a slight evolution.

In a conversation with Nicole or Jay or someone, he said that Interscope would be taking a lot more control of Gaga for her next release. I think people assumed that meant Gaga would have a relationship with Interscope akin to that of hers during TFM era.
