Hello - One of the most "live" sounding I guess you could say... It sounds like the whole band was just in the studio and performing the song. Not drastically different from the recording except since the instruments are real it sounds less pop-ish and sheds a lot of the "Last Friday Night" similarities people have been pointing out. Her voice is even more raw on it which is awesome.
The War is Over - Also sounds more organic than the album version with real instruments but there is still some reverb on her vocals which actually sounds very close to the album version (good job Toby!) It utilizes the acoustic guitar quite a bit.
You Love Me - It's angrier and darker than the album version, especially on the verses. It opens with an almost "We Will Rock You" type beat. It kind of reminds me of the studio version of If I Can't Have You with (for the most part) more natural vocals. I personally prefer the album version but it's a cool remix.
The Sun Will Rise - No Kara! It's even more countrified. Again, sounds more live and organic like the first two tracks. Her voice sounds awesome on it. The studio one had that typical Howard Benson vocal production on the chorus...
If I Can't Have You - As we knew, it's that "slow remix" she performed at some corporate event a while ago.
I Can't Make You Love Me - Her voice is just sooooooooooooo smooth on this. She doesn't really go for any big notes but it doesn't need it.

dammit. i was gonna wait on the ep until i got it in the mail, but now that you're all talking about a better version of "you love me" on it, i think i'm gonna break down soon. i've been obsessed with that song ever since i saw her perform it on wednesday.

Yea I personally don't think YLM is better... I was under the impression it would be more like a ballad for some reason. It kind of went in the opposite direction though.

well it's an acoustic EP, yes the production isn't like it would be in a studio version...but I love it. gives it edge! the song considering it's subject matter is a little too light for me in the album version, so yeah i love it tbh.

Now I don't know if to feel excited or worried that I bought this especially when I could have the album by now if I hadn't of bought it with the EP

Playing them back to back it probably would honestly lol... On the EP YLM kind of sounds like a demo.

TSWR and ICMYLM were great though, and I like how live Hello sounded. TWIO sounds nice but her vocal is so similar I almost don't notice they are different haha. And If I Can't Have You... I have never even been crazy for that song so it's kind of whatever for me. If you liked that remix they did with it though you would obviously like it =p

The production is just really basic. I love that they went darker with it but this production is really not what I wanted. I like it more on second listen though. i take back what I said about calling it trash.
