Beyonce did need Destiny's child to catapult her career. If she had started out solo in 1997 she had the possibility of being one of them 1 hit wonder r&b girls . She wouldn't have the big producers and big feature artists. It would kinda be like Tamar braxton lol .Destiny's Child gave her notoriety and respect before she could go solo . Another thing ;stop acting like every1 cared about Beyonce in destiny's child . There were some people who actually liked Kelly also . Even in their biggest hit "Independent Women " i always saw women singing with Kelly's part and it was their obvious favorite part. In the Bootylicious video she stood out so idk why every1 has so much hate for her. Beyonce might have been the breakout of Destiny's Child but its not like she was the only 1 recognized as a group member. Besides, a lot of her stans were not even into her during destiny's child but act like it just to brag that she was the center of attention . its true lol ..why did i write so much

Did Beyonce need DC in order to have a successful career in music in general? No. But did she need them to have the level of success she's been lucky enough to enjoy? Yes. They were her launching pad, they gave her the platform to base her solo career off of. People seem to forget that Beyonce did not start to enjoy success on a grand scale only when she went solo, she sold a **** ton of albums and had internationally successful singles with DC as well. DIL did well not only because of the music, but because people were already familiar with Bey at that point, thanks to her tenure in DC. If she were solo to begin with, things might have panned out quite differently, perhaps not for the better, at least from the standpoint of commercial success.

That being said, some fanbases (who shall remain nameless, but you know who you are), love to insinuate that their less talented fave deserve more respect for their success because they've been solo from the get-go, and are somehow under the impression that being in a band/group means you don't have to work as hard. ********, because you still have to start from nothing to go somewhere, solo or otherwise.

Yes, Beyonce sang MORE than Kelly, but there can be more than one lead singer. In Bills Bills Bills "you trifling, good for nothing type of brother" is like the most memorable line in the song, sung by Kelly. And in Independent Woman, Kelly's hooks were just as long as Beyonce verses.

Anyways, yes Beyonce sang more than Kelly and Michelle, but my point was that Beyonce wasn't the only one with solos. Beyonce was 1st lead (usually singing verses and adlibs), Kelly was second lead (usually singing hooks), Michelle was 3rd lead (usually singing the bridge).

Which is always interesting, because Beyoncé did more work herself when she was in DC, than certain artists did when they were solo.

DC was obviously very beneficial to Bey's career before her solo launch, but can you really say she NEEDED Destiny's Child when the other members of the group aren't even half as successful as she is? The KI is Destiny's Child would've even exist if Bey hadn't declined her solo deal because the label didn't even want the group, just her.

And what makes anyone think Beyoncé would've started her solo career in 1997? She could've easily waited til 03 and came out because R&B was still ********. She honestly could've came out in the late 90s because other female R&B acts were already peaking.
