Beyonce is the smartest, hardest working woman in the business. She knew exactly what she was doing with the video/who was inspiring her.
As for the video, am I the only who was slightly reminded by "Why Don't You Love Me"? She's nailed the whole retro vibe on both of those videos.

How was she called out when the video "Countdown" was a video to count down all the decades? Hence, her using all those references from old movies to make the whole video! I'm not worked at all.
