Let's get things straight once and for all. You all can try to deny, but you will be wrong. Don't let your hate for Rihanna make your thinking power not work.
Rihanna has been the executive producers of her past two albums. That means she:
Meets with Producers on what she wants (or in Rated R's case she actually co-wrote most of the album)
She chooses what songs go on the albums (She hated Who's That Chick, and it didn't make the final cut. There you go).
She also was the art director of Loud, and comes up with concepts and directs her own videos.
Rihanna is in control of her career. She loves recording music, and she will slow down when she wants to. You all will deal. And her albums are always quality too,and they have a new flavor each time.

Don't look at me. I'm counting down the hours till we hear the new single
I don't see how new music from one of your faves is a bad thing.

People are going to get tired of hearing this bitch. Lord knows I love her, but honestly -- she is going to suspend herself from radio.

Then you'd think haters would be happy about it. Let Rihanna overwork herself
and breakdown and that'll be less competition to deal with in the future.
But people forget the chick is young and full of energy.
She can handle it... for now.

You know how there was SO much hype for Britney/GaGa/Beyonce's lead singles? Well Rihanna will never have the comeback hype because she never leaves.
She's not leaving anyone THIRSTY for new music........there can be too much of a good thing. In this instance, Rihanna is feeding us too much, we are getting fatter and fatter and pretty soon - we wont want anymore.
|
Stop before you get banned again.
I agree though. Although her albums sell and singles hit number one she's never really anticipated or makes any sort of impact in any way, and her constant releases could be the reason for that.
I think what keeps Rihanna from being exposed to much is her level of promotion. She doesn't go overboard or go all out with it.

I'm waiting for new Rihanna, i know she never disappoint ! BUT the only thing i DON'T like about this fast releases is.. she's not involved in the process. All she does is to get her ass in the studio and her team goes like : "Now sing this", "Now start dressing like this for the new era" , "Now this is the music direction for the new era" , "This are the producers you are working with now". She's is the perfect example of an artist who works with the label decisions 100% We all know she's not the only big gerl working like a Muppet, but in rihanna's situation, it seems more obvious.

Fall 2012 will be for her GH. With 3 new songs, all released as singles. I can see it already.

Loud was no where near as good as GGGB or RR. Music of the Sun never existed.

This is not true. You can argue the fact that her singles begin to slow down after selling 2 million copies is a worrying. I don't think "What's My Name?" has even passed 3 million and that was one of the biggest radio hits during it's time of release. I couldn't go anywhere without hearing it. You'd literally think it'd be one of the 5 million sellers.

Umm, her label is actually really smart.
2005 Music Of The Sun - If It's Lovin' That You Want flops and they move on.
2006 A Girl Like Me - We Ride flops and they move on.
2007 Good Girl Gone Bad - She gets four hits and they want more.
2008 Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded [It featured new songs] - If I Never See Your Face Again/Rehab flop and they move on.
2009 Rated R - Rockstar 101/Te Amo flop and they move on.
2010 Loud - California King Bed/Man Down flop and they move on.
2011 TBA
She just releases way too many singles within a year tbh.
2005 2 singles.
2006 4 singles.
2007 5 singles.
2008 6 singles.
2009 4 singles.
2010 9 singles.
2011 7 singles.
****ing dead at the last two years.

All she has to do is lay down her vocals for songs that have already been written, produced, edited, mixed etc for her. It doesn't take more than a few hours to lay down vocals for a 3 minute song.
Rihanna had no creative input for LOUD and it turned out to be a big hit. Why wouldn't she repeat the same formula? Last time she tried to diverge, she underperformed. Rihanna is in this business for the hits and commercial success.

Last I knew back in 2010 it sold 1.2 million in the US alone. Either way it's still new music. Gaga only really took a break after Alejandro has officially died down by around late August and she waited 6 months to release her next single. Even then she couldn't take a break, and still released snippets of Sheibe, Government Hooker, and performed "You and I" live 2035230 times.

I used Only Girl for exhibit B, because unlike Rated R, it was able to combine excellent quality with excellent sales.
Loud may not be as good as Rated R, but it did what Rated R never could - increase Rihanna's star power and sell like hot cakes. Rihanna would not be as big as she is this moment if she only made albums like Rated R. That is biblical.
The fact that within a year, Rihanna has given us 2 separate albums - a critical and a commercial masterpiece - shows she's doing something right.

But that still doesn't change the fact that the public wasn't entirely here for her, which explains how Rated R only sold a million in the US and that Rude Boy, the biggest hit of the album, is at like 2.5 million in the US. What I'm getting at is that during this era for whatever reason, the public wasn't paying as much attention, and thus most of them had somewhat of a "break" from her.

And while her tour grosses are nice, they aren't banking like Britney, GaGa, Madonna, etc.
|
Rihanna tours are cheap productions. I think they make more money than they cost.

Are you a Britney stan or a Rihanna stan? Anyway, I'm sure the Rihanna stans wouldn't even agree with most of the mess you said besides her loving to record music.
