You do know Gaga (who you are clearly talking about) passed the 4 million mark worldwide with 3 months of sales, with hardly a quarter of the total singles sold that Katy has.

And longevity? That's becasue its sales were very weak when it was first released. Rihanna and Gaga have outsold her easily, and Beyoncé might in due time. And none of them have had anywhere near the success Katy has had with singles, which you would think should push album sales up.
