I'm atheist so this whole religious backlash was surprising to me but my mother is catholic and she didn't find anything offensive with Judas, she just thinks Gaga is weird. Like i said it's just my opinion that Bloody Mary won't work as a single because of the mention of jesus.

And it does not mean, that Bloody Mary couldn't become one of those hits.

Bloody Mary would absolutely flop. The song may be less blasphemous than Judas but radio simply won't touch it with a barge poll because the title is religious. It doesn't matter about the lyrics.

Bloody Mary has lots of meanings. The first thing I was thinking about when I saw the title, was not religion at all.
