Def Jam has done alot to sabotage her career ( Not releasing Firebomb or Breakin Dishes and releasing Man Down) But if they were to cut this Era short it would be borderline unforgivable.I don't understand why BBR and Last Boy on Earth wouldnt want her to be sucessful as possible

I don't think Fire Bomb should have been released (I'm alone on that, though) but I do think Breakin Dishes should have been released instead of Rehab and that they should have released Push Up On Me instead of Shut Up and Drive. Then the whole era would have been top 10s. And Man Down was a HUGE mistake. That was mostly Rihanna's fault, though.

Ending Loud so prematurely would be the ultimate definition of a huge mistake. This era has insane potential.

SN: The GGGB era so should have gone like this:
1. Umbrella - Spring 2007
2. Push Up On Me - Summer 2007
3. Hate That I Love You (featuring Ne-Yo) - Fall 2007
4. Don't Stop the Music - Winter 2007/2008
5. Take a Bow - Spring 2008
6. Disturbia - Summer 2008
7. Breakin' Dishes - Fall 2008

We would have had 7 top 10s then, and most likely 4 #1's instead of 3.

And Rated R should have gone like this:
1. Russian Roulette - Fall 2009
2. Hard (featuring Jeezy) - Winter 2009
3. Rude Boy - Spring 2010
4. Photographs (featuring will.i.am) - Summer 2010

Firebomb or Photographs were the only reasonable songs left to release from the album. I just happen to hate Photographs, so I think they should have released Firebomb instead of that Rockstar/Te Amo **** show..

I think DSTM worked better later. It was the "saving hit" of the album. GGGB had a lot of smashes but not enough for the whole era, so they had to release some risky choices. PUOM and HTILY were the riskier choices compared to Umbrella and DSTM so I think waiting on DSTM was best, because if PUOM and HTILY had bombed then they had DSTM to save the era.

I kind of like the idea of Hard then Russian Roulette, actually. That way she would have roped in success and increased interest in the album before gaining respect with RR. It would have been great. But I like the idea of Rude Boy instead of WYT, since Rude Boy helped any previous flops (again, a "saving hit"), and it was very multi-format. Fire Bomb would have bombed.

FireBomb would have been a hit or miss. But with that being said I would have picked SIL before Rockstar. Photographs is a song that I just can't get myself to like, although it possibly could have worked as a single.

For GGGB I don't even see Breakin Dishes as a risk, it would have smashed in my opinion. If Breakin Dishes had been released I would have been fine with the whole Era

I don't count the singles from reloaded because the re-release/ep of loud isn't here yet. GGGB may have the biggest song of Rihanna but it's full of fillers. The only two songs from Loud that I partially dislike are Fading and Skin.

Actually it was an iconic and brave choice for a first single. it showed symbolically and literally that she had no fears. She wasnt afraid to not follow up to the mainstream sucess of her last era.. And that she wasnt afraid of the past...

That song being first single made me a stan for that era. She was brave. She could have chosen Rude Boy or Hard... She didnt.

Hard, then Russian Roulette, then Rude Boy, then Photographs. We could have had 1.5 million instead of 1 that way and 4 or 5 million worldwide instead of 3. Not to mention that we could have had bigger singles.

I hated everything from Rated R when it was released. I didn't appreciate the album until the spring of 2010 and I didn't fall in love with it until very late last summer.
