Gaga doesn't feed anything. She has not done a god damn thing for the gay community except get rich off us and make a portion of the general public think we're all a a bunch of tacky-dressed "little monsters." She's no more of a gay icon than the millions of other people who support gay rights - which yes, I do appreciate - but don't put her on a pedestal and act like we owe her a damn thing, because we don't.

That's the problem. You guys act like Gaga is the saving grace to the gay community and the reason why we are able to live and breathe each day.

What does she gain? Are gays like hesitant to latch on to female pop stars even when they aren't so out there with their active support? Does Britney have like a dearth of gay fans? Did I miss some memo here?

She would have gay fans regardless, she loses other potential fans by identifying with that community and being seen as a "gay artist." That's still a stigma. Industry support =/= mainstream public opinion.
