If Bruno Mars gets another hit, I think he will be an AOTY nominee.

I agree wit the first three but idk bout Brit n GaGa. The Grammys don't seem to be fond of Brit tho this is her best album since Blackout so hopefully they can reconsider but I doubt it and for GaGa this era is just not the business while she sold a milli thanks to her fans and discount this album is weak compared to her previous works IMO. It all depends on what other albums get released I do think GaGa may be a lock more than Brit but we'll see how all pans out til the fall.

If Wiz was being nominated for BNA, then Big Sean took his slot.
If he wasn't then Sean will still be nominated.

To be honest I think if she gets nominated she'll only get the Dance Recording of The Year Nomination. GaGa.. She should be nominated for Dance.. but she'll most likely be put in pop again.

Beyonce stans' logic kills me. Gaga's million+ debut can't guarantee a win in Dance field because this era supposedly underperforms, while Beyonce's flop ass mediocrity is up for AOTY. All the sense it makes.

I wonder if Jill Scott will get a nomination? Her album isn't half bad.

I've come to some conclusion on the Gaga/Beyonce issue for me:
One might get in. The other won't. They both won't get AOTY nods.
I know I fear a Kanye/Adele/Gaga/Bee/Taylor list which is very possible. But I think Beyonce and Gaga, while entirely different albums, will face off for one slot. Swift is still facing off with Paul Simon and will probably lose.
So here's my newest guess for Album:
21, Adele
Born This Way, Lady Gaga
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Kanye West
So Beautiful or So What, Paul Simon
The Union, Elton John and Leon Russel
Mind you, I still don't think 4 or BTW have any place in the AOTY discussion (well, neither does Elton, Taylor or Paul really) but one of the two will obviously make it. Sigh.
(second tier list is Beyonce, Coldplay, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Cee-Lo. third tier is Allison Krauss and Union Station, Wiz Khalifa, Taylor Swift, Foo Fighters and Lupe Fiasco)

Personally I think Bey will get it. 4 is def better than IASF n it got an AOTY nom also take in thought that BTW is a MAJOR step down from TF n TFM n idk if the academy is caring for this era for sure yet but she has gotten 2 AOTY noms in row so do u think they would for a 3rd time? This is my take on it. 4>>>>BTW.

OMFG Music: Who will grab "Album of the Year" nominations?
Quote:
Forget album sales, chart positions, and critic reviews, nothing is more coveted in the music industry than the elusive Grammy for "Album of the Year." For the upcoming 54th annual Grammy Awards, the eligibility period ranges from September 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011, which leaves nearly three months of eligibility, but what albums released so far have to best shot at a nomination?
4 - Beyoncé
Still early in her current era, Beyoncé's chances at the upcoming Grammy's are uncertain. After a undeniably shaky start with the release of "Run The World (Girls)," Beyoncé needs a chart-topper for any chance at an "Album of the Year" nomination. With Dangerously in Love and I Am... Sasha Fierce, Beyoncé dominated the Grammy Awards receiving five and six wins, respectively, but what did those two eras have in common? Both albums' initial two singles soared straight to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The year Beyoncé struggled at The Grammy's receiving only a single win in the R&B category, her first two singles "Deja Vu" and "Ring The Alarm" struggled on the charts before "Irreplaceable," the third single reached the top spot on the Hot 100. With her first two singles no where near the summit on the charts if Ms. Jay-Z's third single isn't an international number one single, she can forget any chances at a "Album of the Year" nom and start vying for a win for "R&B Album of the Year"—she's 99.99% guaranteed a nomination in that category.
21 - Adele
No other album on this list has as much of a guaranteed nomination in the "Album of the Year" category as Adele's fantastically reviewed and commercially successful sophomore effort 21. If the Grammy voters were sent their ballots today, Adele would easily win the award, as well. The Grammy committee gave Adele the coveted "Best New Artist" Grammy in 2009 and the award show loves to give "Album of the Year" noms to those winners—Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse. If Adele can keep the momentum going into award season, there isn't any artist within her reach that is a threat to her Grammy reign.
Bon Iver - Bon Iver
If Arcade Fire can beat out the likes of Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, and Eminem for an "Album of the Year" win, than you can't count out this year's top indie-rock artist Bon Iver from sneaking into the "Album of the Year" category with a nom after his self-titled album reached number two on the album charts and received mass critical acclaim.
Born This Way - Lady Gaga
The Grammy voters seem to really like Gaga. Both her debut studio album The Fame and her EP The Fame Monster grabbed nominations for "Album of the Year" at the 2010 and 2011 Grammy's. The committee seems to appreciate Gaga's ability to transform her seemingly ordinary pop song's lyrics into something thought-provoking as she did with "Bad Romance" and "PokerFace," and her most recent album Born This Way is her most far-reaching cultural effort yet (Not even Adele can say that President Obama alluded to her album's title in one of his speeches). That's no all Gaga has going for her. Those one-million first week sales (Amazon controversy or not) will undoubtedly help her Grammy nomination chances. Aside from 50 Cent's The Massacre, the last four albums after 2001 (Confessions, Feels Like Home, Tha Carter III, The Eminem Show) have gone on the receive nominations for "Album of the Year."
Cannibal EP - Ke$ha
Gaga proved that even an EP can garner an "Album of the Year" nomination, but the Grammy's don't seem to appreciate Ke$ha too much. She was not only snubbed for a "Best New Artist" at last year's Grammy's, but she didn't even receive a single nomination. Sorry Ke$ha, don't count on a nomination for "Album of the Year" anytime soon.
Doo-Wops & Hooligans - Bruno Mars
The Grammy's nominated Bruno Mars an astounding seven nominations last year (two for his work on Cee-Lo's "**** You"), but his album didn't make the cut for an "Album of the Year" nom, but it is eligible for the 2012 ceremony. Bruno has one problem though. Last year his singles peaked at the perfect time—right as the ballots were being sent to voting committee. This year Bruno won't be as lucky, so will voters still remember Bruno over the likes of Gaga, Beyoncé, Adele, and Kanye West? He's doing a surprisingly impressive job keeping the momentum going with the release of his current single "The Lazy Song," but by the time voters get the ballots in the mail, Bruno's appeal will probably be simmered out.
Femme Fatale - Britney Spears
Depending on how the Grammy voters see Britney's seventh studio album, the album could have a chance at a nomination for "Album of the Year," but then again, Britney's two best albums both In the Zone and Blackout didn't receive a single album nomination (Pop Vocal album, Best Dance Album, Album of the Year, etc.). While the album is a thrilling, nonstop keep-on-dancing-till-the-world-ends affair, Grammy voters fail over and over again to appreciate Britney's contributions to pop music, and there's a good chance they'll do the same this this year. If there is any consolation in Brit's sure-to-be snub, chances favor that Femme Fatale superproducer Dr. Luke will grab a nom for "Producer of the Year."
The King of Limbs - Radiohead
Radiohead has a helluva track record for "Record of the Year" nominations for their past albums, but The King of Limbs hasn't created the underground buzz that their previous Grammy-nominated efforts such as Kid A and In Rainbows have in the past. It's a longshot this time for The King of Limbs, but you can never count Radiohead out of the running.
LOUD - Rihanna
Although Katy Perry is in the same category and she received an "Album of the Year" nomination last year, RiRi's predominately a singles artist and the Grammy academy recognizes that; she's never in her career been grabbed a nomination for an entire body of work, so don't expect Rihanna to grab the most coveted album nomination this year, but LOUD may grab Rihanna her first nomination for "Best Pop Vocal Album" for the first time.
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Kanye West
The long-winded Kanye West titled album was heralded as masterpiece by critics upon its release. Music pundits compared it to The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Picasso's Cubist era. It was a no-holds-barred musical extravaganza of filled with some of the greatest pop music of this generation. The only element working against this album is its unfortunate release timing. By the time nominations roll out, Kanye West's album will be over a year old. It would be a massive mistake for The Grammy's to overlook this true work of art.
My Kinda Party - Jason Aldean
It's the biggest selling country album of 2011 and The Grammy's tend to sneak in a country album for "Album of the Year." With the help of Kelly Clarkson, his duet "Don't You Wanna Stay" was able to muster up some crossover appeal that the committee loves to see in from a country album. Even on his own, his current single "Dirt Road Anthem" managed to crack the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. Even with competition from Taylor Swift, Aldean's My Kinda Party is on its way towards a "Album of the Year" nomination.
Pink Friday - Nicki Minaj
Nicki has created a ridiculous amount of buzz with her Pink Friday era, but The Grammy's seem to have a hard time giving rap albums an "Album of the Year" nomination, and rap-legend Missy Elliott is the only female rapper to nab a nom in the category. This time around, it's not Nicki's time.
Speak Now - Taylor Swift
Like Jason Aldean and Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift has two things going for her. She's a country artist and she sold over one-million copes of Speak Now in a single week, but Swift hasn't had the massive crossover appeal that sustained her Fearless album's success and "Album of the Year" win. She's without a doubt a top contender for "Album of the Year," but Aldean is currently outpacing her on the country front.
The Union - Elton John and Leon Russell
Time and time again, The Grammy's have nominated arguably out-of-style albums from legends in the mix for "Album of the Year." Just look at past years: Genius Loves Company by Ray Charles River; The Joni Letters by Herbie Hancock; O Brother, Where Art Thou? Soundtrack; and Raising Sand by Allison Kraus and Robert Plant. These albums have not only received nominations, but have gone on to win the coveted award over Amy Winehouse's Back to Black, Kanye West's Graduation, Coldplay's Viva la Vida, and Green Day's American Idiot. And this year, that album is Elton John and Leon Russell's The Union.
Watch out for 21, Born This Way, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, My Kinda Party, Speak Now, and The Union to grab nominations for "Album of the Year" at this year's award ceremony.

The Grammy likes reaction, so probably Taylor Swift. Or maybe Adele.

Like I said, The Grammys likes reaction, so don't underestimate the unknown albums. That didn't stop Arcade Fire - The Surburbs from winning album of the year last year.
