okay, i feel like this thread needs at least one smart post.
i must admit i was skeptical, i had my doubts. gaga never really made brilliant music, it was never THAT good. sure, there were a couple of gems, but nothing extraordinary. to me, her appeal did really lie down in her extraordinary clothes. just another girl who makes good pop music with lots of crazy outfits and a huge crazy insecure stanbase that's gonna eat up EVERYTHING she puts out.
like i said, i did have my doubts - not for a second i thought it was gonna be MINDBLOWINGLY good - especially because of the (promo) singles. they really weren't that good - TEOG was my absolute favourite but still overproduced, for instance. just like speechless ~ still my favourite TFM song. so i didn't have any reason to believe her - i was expecting some mediocre record/great pop record.
and then MTN came along. i KNEW from the 0.29 mashup of the GGV instrumental and the HBO acapella it was gonna be something different.
it was. it was really good, almost perfect. i instantly loved it.
the album leaked. OH MY GOD DOWNLOAD ASAP MAKE A CHATROOM THIS IS AN EVENT!
not in a million years i thought it could live up to the hype - see: Judas, BTW.
but it really did, at least in my eyes.
she created something better, [cliche]something next level![/cliche]
but seriously. i'm kind of a musical snob, i listen to both pop as a guilty pleasure and indie/alternative/hip~ cos it's cool from my point of view, and i'm not afraid to say it out loud lol.
second thing - upon first listening i thought it was almost impossible to overplay it. i REALLY don't want to jinx it, but i dont see FF happening all over again ~ ive overplayed FF right when it leaked.
i really don't see this happening with BTW, which was my main concern as well ~ BTW, TEOG (i feel like ive overplayed it with 56 plays), Judas. All overplayed - Judas and BTW 700-1000 plays.
i overplay EVERYTHING.
it's 9.04 here and i havent slept at all, i drank too much coffee cos i thought it was gonna leak early morning and i knew i couldnt wake up, so i decided to stay.
