Thinking about it now I think Sydney should have stayed dead at the end, and Jill should have gotten away with the murders. But, rather than having a new Ghostface in "Scream 5," I think Jill should have continued to be the killer, with Gale and Dewey not learning the truth until near the end. That would have been a good twist on the formula, having the audience know who the killer is from the beginning, while the characters remain clueless. Then maybe they could have Dueling Ghostfaces for "Scream 6".

I also think the brilliance of this film is going over people's head. I finally got it when Jill said pointedly, "Let's face it, Sidney- your days of being the ingenue are over now." It was the line that kinda just summed up a major thread of the film- that the Original Three are middle-aged now, and therefore they're expected to be put out to pasture and replaced with new, younger versions of themselves. That's what we were expecting coming into seeing this movie, and I liked that they totally subverted that expectation and killed everyone BUT the Orginal Three off. It was also a nice call-back to Stu's line about Sharon Stone.

"That's Channing Thatum." All I could think of is Tatum in the garage door, and what happens to the girl in the beginning? The killer almost crushes her with the garage door. .

I'm thinking it's probably because Charlie was quite obviously a lonely loser who never had a girl like him. So he brought out that anger in all the girls he killed, because he knew they'd never like him.

He was pretty brutal with the 2 opening girls, and then with Olivia.

The saddest part was when he stabbed Kirby . You could see the hurt in his expression, like he didn't want to do it, but he was so ****ed up, thinking he had to.

The Scream movies aren't scary anymore. It has become a "whodunit" story. I love this reveal though. It's better than part III. Actually, I think this reveal is better than the other three. Scream 1 was typical - the boyfriend who was suspected from the get go with his friend helping. Scream 2 - the minor characters. Scream 3 was a shocking reveal but still felt out of place for some reason. Like who cares if Sidney had a long lost brother? Scream 4 was pretty creative with the Ghostface reveal, and the hospital ending was the best.

I just realized, Kate's death was kinda like that first death in S2 in the toilet. The two police men were killed the same way as the opening victims in Scream 3 as well (stabbed in the back, stabbed in the head). I almost think every death was a reference to another.

I thought Kate's death was pretty original and very good. Seeing Sidney's reaction as she told her to come on was heartbreaking. I think it was one of the best deaths in the series, in terms of originality.

Kates death was extra sad to me considering who killed her.

Rebecca: Thrown froom the building, like Cici in Scream 2
Kirby: Drew Barrymore's iconic scene
Hoss: Stabbed in the back from behind, like Christine in Scream 3
Perkins: Stabbed in the forehead, like Cotton
Gale (almost-death scene): Stabbed in front of a crowd watching Stab, like Jada Pinkett
Kate: Opening kill in Scream 2, stabbed through a door/stabbed through a wall

Plus Jill's arm getting slashed, the whole 'stabbing each other' with Charlie and Jill, and Trevor pulled out of a closet tied up after the big reveal like Sidney's dad in the original. It's a shame most people wont get the brilliance, and the effort that went into the script
