I think that's the problem with Season 2. Though there are still a few major plots, the show focused more on the subplots. Actually, some of the subplots could work as a major plot. For example, Blaine's bi-curios plot or the cheerios leaving the Cheerios plot, Santanna's desire for Brittany plot.
And some characters are not being visited.
