David Bowie is amazing as well but MJ is not overhyped. He has worked hard as hell to do what he's done. He is incredibly intelligent, talented and kind hearted.
Although I don't like how suddenly everyone loved him again after his untimely demise

Madonna did it with Music, Confessions on a Dancefloor and her greatest hits album Celebration.

I think GaGa is looking at a huge commercial and critical success. Just looking at how well BTW has been received and knowing that some reviewers have heard more songs and all have been said to be better than BTW. I think this album is going to be a defining moment in 21st century pop.

What makes commercial pop so critically unsuccessful is its over reliance on recycling. Then again if someone cones up with something really experimental pop-wise and still makes it successful commercially then that artist is god.
The majority of the world want repetitive, recycled music that drills its way into your brian, don't get me wrong I often like this music but I also love experimental pop, thus my love for indie music.

I mean listening to songs like Scheiße, Government Hooker.. they do not sound like anything that is out there. That's what's great about Gaga, she does not want the people to listen to one kind of music, she wants + fights to push boundaries to a new sound. So, I think this is what "Born This Way" about, revolutionizing pop music.

I agree, I'm hoping this will be the album that sets her in stone.
And then all of the lessors will try and emulate her success and her stans will call us out for being "delusional"
Honestly, the only delusional people are the ones that don't see how much of an impact she's made.

I have strong faith in Gaga's team. I mean without them, Gaga wouldn't be selling 15,000,000+ albums or 50,000,000+ singles.

"Tonight I want you to forget all of your insecurities, I want you to reject anyone or anything that's ever made you feel like you don't belong, or you don't fit in, or you aren't good enough, or thin enough, or pretty enough, or can't sing well enough, or write a song well enough, or dance well enough, or you'll never have a #1, or you'll never walk a runway, or you'll never fill an arena, or you'll never win a Grammy, you just remember that you're a goddamn superstar, Hollywood."

I still have my doubts about her pulling it off though.

Just out of curiosity, can you give an example of an example of "experimental pop"?

Lykke Li is a good example, she infuses tribal, gospel an dance into a brilliant pop smash.

Today is such a disappointment, because of this day, we've kinda lost our faith to the album. I hope she comes back really hard on Judas.

Who's lost faith? I sure as hell haven't.
The album is going to smash - both critically and commercially. Period.

This is getting into some messy territory. Pop music is, by definition, music made for large-scale commercial purposes. Similarly, popular music is music that has a wide appeal. Thus, it is difficult to say that any type of pop music is experimental or avant-garde while still allowing it to be called "pop music."
That said, I consider a band like Sleigh Bells to be experimental pop.
Edit: As a previous poster said, Lykke Li is a better example.

I've listened to her stuff and she sounds like lots of other indie/hipster music I've heard that people praise because it doesn't sound like what's on the radio.
Her music is pretty good but still.
