But I am serious when I say I don't know where RCA could go with it. They are way too slow to move in the industry. They seem to let things die before making a move.
I think I would go:
WTH, Smile, WYWH
I don't think Smile will perform that well, but releasing WYWH is risky - if pop radio dosen't pick it up it will end the whole era. RCA won't release another single, if both the single and album are flopping.

Well neither have flopped, per say. Underperformed, certainly. But RCA sucks.

I was referring to how the second single performed better than the first single though they were both in the same scheme.

WTH hasn't done too bad really - it has probably outpeformed HIAM. Mainly talking about the second single - the album will freefall in the next single flops.
That they do. They would make more money if they actually supported their artists; even if they don't like the projects.
For My December they had made an entire video for Don't Waste Your Time and yet they didn't even release it to radio. Interscope & Capital certainly show the way. RCA have so many talented artists and yet labels without much are destroying them.

They should have and promote more than 2 singles!
WTH still out there and doing great soo yeah!
worldwide the album is selling good, yes US it's like the most important and it's kind of dissapointing but let's hope we have logetivity as Avril Lavigne always has, and this will obviously do better than Kelly or Christina pleaseeee

How comes WYWH is a risk when it's the only song that debuted on Hot 100 ??? May be it's not that impressived for Rihanna or Katy Perry but for an album that only sold 87k in its first week, the debut was impressived. Releasing another single is taking much bigger risk. On the other hand, the reaction of the general public for Sober wasn't good at all (despite Kelly's fans loved the song). Wish You Were Here has been recieved a generally positve reation so far
Never Again was nevert a strong single for Kelly. Despite it peaked at #8 on Hot 100, it fell to make Top 20 on CHR/Pop. It was dead immediately after its released just like Not Myself Tonight. Both My December and Never Again have been the worst flop of Kelly ever. My December debuted high just because Kelly was the 2005-2007 version of Gaga. She was very huge in those years.
The amount of the single will depend on how her 2nd/3rd/4th single does. If her 3rd single still does well, RCA will release the 4th single. Because time have changed, selling singles are as important as selling album now
Anyway, welcome to ATRL

To be honest, I think the main problem with both Christina and Avril is they waited far too long and in a brutal pop world, fans moved on. Avril also is getting slightly tired with her single formulations. While What The Hell has done okay, it is pretty much a sub-standard Girlfriend and it dosen't really fit the current lanscape of pop music. I'm not sure if it was the right single choice, considering it dosen't even closely reflect the album. I really don't think first week sales could have been much worse in the US.
My December was far less pop friendly than Goodbye Lullably, but kelly had a strong lead single and stood strong on her album. Sure it didn't come close to breakaway standards, but it still produced a platinum album and single with extremely limited label support.
I think RCA will give this album a max of three singles - but most likely 2 with videos and one without - or possibly even just two singles. However I can't see in cracking the top 40 on billboard. Really with the possible singles from this album, it's sort of doomed, especially with RCA.

Out of top 40 in UK on midweek updated. Huge drop in third week but it's pretty much expected since WTH is totally dead there . She really needs a new single in Europe. Damn RCA, you should release a single in Europe first. If Avril wants Push, just let her release it in Europe alone. Better have a song on radio than nothing at all :-/

I have a feeling the second single is taking so long because Avril won't release anything other than 'Push' and RCA want a Max Martin song
Even 'I Love You' would be a great second single. Please, we just NEED another single!
