Well of course not genres like hip-hop, which may never go majority female. Nicki Minaj is the only female rapper making any kind of impact these days. R&B is arguably the most equal genre & has been for years (Alicia, Jennifer, Mary, Usher, Trey, etc.). Rock obviously still isn't either.
Pop is definently more female-driven now, & pop is what mostly sells.

Well I always thought that women do pop better (with exceptions like JT) while men are better at rock (with exceptions as well)
TTWE isn't actually a good song. The lyrics are great (yes, well done Ke$ha ) but the song is average to me. The thing that makes it great is the ooh's in the chorus. That gives me so much life
i wouldnt say its a average or bad song its just like a mechanically generated pop song built to be a ****in smash hit...with that said...
There are always phases of male domination (July, anyone?) but there's definently an onslaught of females getting hit after hit these days, thanks to constant releases by Rihanna, Katy, Ke$ha, & Britney & GaGa now adding to the mix. They're the ones making the most impact on pop right now. 2011 is definently looking like a year for the females.
Of course the big exceptions to everything I just said are Bruno & Justin Bieber.
