I'd say the hardest part is memorizing which nouns are masculine and which are feminine. You know, the whole el vs. la thing. Verb conjugations are difficult for irregular verbs, too. Such as "ir." "Voy," "vas," "va," "vamos," and "van" are the conjugated forms of "ir" if I remember correctly. Whereas "escribir," which is a regular "ir" verb, is easy to conjugate because it is regular. "Escribo," "escribes," "escribe," "esribimos," and "escriben" are the correct conjugations for that word, if I remember correctly.
