Britney Spears 'Claiming Her Throne,' Choreographer Says
'Hold It Against Me' video is 'a masterpiece,' Brian Friedman says about first single from Femme Fatale.
Declaring herself a Femme Fatale on Wednesday (February 2), Britney Spears announced the title of her March 15 release. Fans immediately began to express their excitement about the singer's choice. For those wondering if Britney was going to let some of pop's newest princesses have all the fun, choreographer Brian Friedman tells MTV News that Britney is "definitely setting the bar" with her video for "Hold It Against Me."
"She's showing that you have to push it as an artist: that you can't just settle, that you can't be calm with your choreography, that you have to make a statement," he explained. "There's so many people out there competing in this world to be the queen of pop, and she's definitely claiming her throne."
Rather than resting on her laurels or trying to guarantee success by repeating the past, she's pushing boundaries.
"Artistically, this video I think surpasses a lot of her other videos," he teased about the soon-to-be-released Jonas Åkerlund-directed clip. "So many of her videos are iconic, though. You look at 'Toxic' and you look at 'Slave,' even 'Oops ... I Did It Again': People are gonna remember those videos forever. [In] '... Baby One More Time,' she made school-girl outfits relevant and so popular. This video is artistically a masterpiece, and I don't think that Britney has pushed the envelope in this way ever in any of her videos."

Are you kidding me I ****ING LOVE IT. It might not be as "futuristic" as many of us expected, but it looks very personal and deep. This truly is Britney's Ray Of Light. Plus, judging by her tweet, this is going to be her most personal album yet. It seems she worked hard for it and won't disappoint, I'm expecting emotional ballads and a mixture of Blackout and In The Zone. Femme Fatale, here we come.

"Blackout" had a few fierce shots and a great booklet, and pretty much every picture from the booklet was a better choice for the album cover than that overused mess of a picture they picked.
"Circus" had a couple of really good shots, a couple of odd shots and a couple of shots in which she looked mentally challenged.
Like I said earlier, I thought you were only talking about the album cover.
As for the mentally challenged shots... Well, maybe that was the reality when those pics were taken.
I mean it's ok to dislike it but HATE IT?
