Essentially, it's split 50/50. Now, if this poll was created before the lyrics were leaked, and asked, "Is Born This Way going to smash?" it would be split more like 90/10. There's backlash with those lyrics and some hype. Not that the song won't do well (as long as it has KILLER production), but it seems that although the "critics" are praising the record (most before even having heard the song), they aren't the ones that matter... the public does. And if ATRL is any reflection or considered a small cross-section of the general public... it would tell us that it may very well have a mixed reaction. She may have been better off just not releasing the lyrics to build hype and, instead, just performed at the Grammy's or waited to the songs official release.

ATRL acted like Cannibal was the 2nd coming when that album leaked.
It flopped.

ATRL polls don't matter at all in terms of public or critical response. There's nothing you can take from them other than that they represent the opinion of the ATRL members who participated in the poll.

No, she wanted people to get more excited about the release and that exactly what she's done. She's raised interest because for the first time some of her very own fans are doubting her and when she unleashes Born This Way she intends to eliminate all doubts.

I don't understand the praise that song gets.
Blow as well. Although it was insanely hot when it leaked. I burned it out a bit too much.

DEATH at your FAILED ****ING Lack of logic.
1. you asked a question so you can purposly argue with the inevitable responces
2. you chose a poll to say there's a "split", yet you analyzed the data in the WRONG ****ing way because
a. The split is between whether or not people think the lyrics are inspirational or cotrived, neither of which indicated any perceived lack of anticipation

I sure did not think Gaga would get a 4x platinum song with Bad Romance the first time I heard the demo...in fact I thought the album was going to be a flop and the song as well. Doubt is apart of the Gaga cycle...eventually faith will be restored.

Invalid point. You must be observational, Jewfro. Every "Born This Way"/Lady Gaga poll... for the most part, had the majority of ATRLers and stans on the back of Lady Gaga and "Born This Way." And the first poll AFTER the lyrics were release... has ATLers split. I'm just pointing out an observation about how hype can affect a song's success for the worse.

Very well. That being said, I may joke about her and not be the biggest Lady Gaga fan, but I do hope the media doesn't unfairly try to tear her down. She's still an interesting part of the music industry.

Damn, you know what's disappointing about this post? The fact that you had actually posted something very insightful the other day that I really respected, and I can almost say, changed my view slightly on a certain issue... and then I read this mess. Unfortunate. Inspiration, you have just failed.

Gorls, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but must we really fight so? At the end of the day, we all adore Lady Gaga and no matter what she does now we know she'll slay with this album, so let's just relax a bit. Of you don't have something insightful to say, say nothing. If you do want to say something, do it kindly. On February 13th, we will let the stans go to war. But for now, let us keep it calm, gurls, and enjoy the silence before the storm.

My post was very unclassy, and it felt dirty typing it lol. But i did so only because you came across as an extreme troll. It's hard to believe you misconstrued the results of the poll in such a major way, especially after asking a "gotcha" question.

Dude, I'm not doing anything but having a conversation. Why do people on ATRL get so up in arms when having a conversation or debate about an artist. It's either... "Like my artist! If you don't... GTFO of this thread!" That doesn't make any sense. You don't have to be a "troll" just because you're questioning an artist. I like having back and forth conversation. I enjoy Ke$ha (and many other artists) but I don't take it personally or report anyone that doesn't like her. Ridiculous.
