You nailed it on the head when you described it as a buildup. One of the things that really appeals to me about the entire track is the fact that it builds; that they didn't go into full-on chorus mode with beats blaring and everything pushed into overdrive during the first two times we hear the chorus. If chorus were to hit us with gusto from the get-go the track really would have lost some of that wonderful mounting tension that keeps us on the edge of our seats with anticipation. They save all the bells and the whistles for the final chorus with everything coming together as this amazing, over-the-top, explosive package, and they're better off having done so. It serves to differentiate this song from the thousands of pop songs who take a more traditional approach to introducing a hook by beating us over the head with the chorus as soon as we naturally expect it to appear in full glory.
you're right.. imo that´s the best, the chorus is different and the way explodes after the breakdown is amazing.. plus the way she sings with a lot of personality is just AWESOME.. waiting to buy it..
But there's like no musical link between the two songs whatsoever, aside from the fact that you crazy kids think both songs have no chorus. I fail to see how they "sound alike".
