Some people on ATRL seem to really dislike Bruno Mars and his music, I don't really get why. Everyone obviously has their own opinions and if you don't like his music fair enough. But in terms of talent he's actually one of the best male vocalists in the chart right now and it's not like he does anything like attacking other artists in interviews so I'm not sure why people seem to dislike him so much

They dislike him because
1) he makes good music which they seem to have forgotten what it sounds like because of all of the recycled songs they listen to
2) he actually has talent, and great voice, and their faves don't
3) he's topping the charts, which in ATRL lingo "snatch their faves wigs"
4) aka they are pressed

Pretty much.

That's only because if it wasn't for chart positions and being overplayed, their favs would have nothing else to offer. They can't let someone come in and take their only claim to fame, relevance, or purpose. If Bruno isn't at the top of the charts, he's still a talented singer, songwriter, artist. If Ke$ha isn't at the top of the charts....what is Ke$ha?
4) aka they are pressed

It's simple. He doesn't have a puss, fake breasts and he can actually sing LIVE and ON-KEY. Of course most of the posters on this board won't like him.

I mean he's ok...i hated JTWYA but like Grenade...I tried to give his CD a chance and it was also ok...a lot of his music sounds the same to me but he is definitely talented...ATRL is a pop forum so that pretty much explains why 90% of us arent really checking for him

What's funny is what does stanning for Rihanna, Kesha, Katy Perry, etc. have to do with not liking Bruno Mars? FYI, the majority of the posters on this board are under the age of 21 and are fans of mostly pop artists. Bruno's music heads a little closer to the line of R&B crossover. Secondly, not everyone has the same perception of who/what is or isn't talented. That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Personally I like Bruno and I'm a Rihanna stan, so what exactly was your point and what does this have to do with iTunes?

Im a harcore Rihanna stan but i also stan for Bruno a lot. I love him and his music. Theres something about his music which makes you cant turn it off, its simplicity at its best. Ive loved him for ages, from when his leaked music used to go on youtube. He is really talented, an amazing singe and an amazing performer. From watching some of his performances, you can tell he really connects with the audience. I like in the UK and i downloaded his album off US itunes. When its released in UK at end of january (24th January, Get doo-Wops and hooligans ) i will go and buy a physical copy and also get another digital copy. Bruno mars deserves this success, he deserves to be riding high at the top of the charts. Some music that some peoples faves are releasing are **** compared to his.

That's still not the point. Being a good live singer/performer isn't a reason to not like someone. Never thought of the fact that Bruno Mars' core demographic aren't the fans of POP stars? Sit down!

Because I've noticed primarily it's on this thread that people seem to have a lot of hate for him

It is the point. Most of the people who are dissing Bruno Mars are the same ones who follow Katy, Rihanna, Ke$ha and all these other non-singing female artists. It makes perfect sense. This board is diva-centric.

That has nothing to do with anything! Since when is your perception of talent the same as everyone else's? No. Bruno Mars simply isn't this board's core demographic. I wouldn't expect most posters here to be fans of my favorite male singer (Luther Vandross), not because they stan for these so-called non-singing women, but because he isn't their demographic. Your whole logic is a fail hun!

Yeah, that is basically my point. The demographic here are into artists like Ke$ha, Katy, and Rihanna --- all who can barely sing. This board is diva-centric.

I've always felt that Bruno's music was pop because basically does whatever he wants, no rules for him. He almost seems like a male version of a female singer(huh lol?) to me because he actually DOES sing in a way not like a lot of current male vocalists do. But I could care less about stan wars...not everyone has the same taste.
