November 24th will be the biggest event this thread has ever seen. The biggest dragging in ATRL's server history will commence. The gorls are not ready to witness such a beautiful and pure ceremoney.
What don't you get? Utada is supposedly one of the most influental artists in J-Pop so her releasing a farewell greatest hits album (which sell like hotcakes) should be able to open with atleast 400k.
The sad part is she probably won't even outsell JUJU's cover album
I don't understand the 400k point that everyone keeps making.
As if anything Namie, Koda, and Ayumi release from now on will open with anything like 400k
You do know that GH are MUCH more popular in Japan than studio albums right? A GH is suppose to easily outsell the studio album that preceded it. If this fails to sell at least 750-800k total it is a MASSIVE flop.

And are you telling me that your expectations for Utada are higher than your own "Queen" Namie She will clearly sell well, but you are pulling that 400k number out of your ass.

Namie's album was a STUDIO album. The comparison is invalid. Namie's last best album Best Fiction sold over 1,800,000 copies in 2008 becoming the #2 album of the year. Hikki will be lucky to get half of that.

400k wouldn't be out-selling Namie's last best album as that one opened with 600k.
Utada should be able to do 400k-500k first week or I'm screaming FLOP to the heavens!

How is that a massive flop? Isn't the highest selling album this year at like 1.3 million in Japan currently?
