Im sorry but Teenage Dream is like one of the most hyped up albums in recent years behind Britney's Circus. If it wasnt hyped then some stupid industry execs wouldnt predict it to open up with 700K

Well shipping 300K isn't too far off. Digital sales are bigger than they've ever been right now.
Maybe my previous predictions were a little high but definitely 180K-350K, for sure.

Industry executives were wrongly assuming based on the success of her singles. Clearly, they do not know what a singles artist is, and they also were not paying attention to what people were saying.

No, they just create 2 hit singles. That doesn't make people any more interested in an album. For example, Rated R had Hard and Rude Boy which were massive hits, and it still hasn't gotten to a million yet after a year.

I can definitely agree with that, but I don't think it applies to Katy. Definitely applies to Christina though. Earlier in the year, I heard nothing but immense hype about Bionic and then NMT dropped...
