19/Jive/JLG former American Idol runner-up David Archuleta’s The Other Side of Down, the follow-up to his ’08 self-titled debut, should do between 22-25k

I always wanted to ask, does anyone know why are those numbers always different? Sometimes the difference is really big. I mean, the album is out for one week only.

It sold 5,603,000 copies this year, according to the UWC.
The difference between Recovery and The Fame (Monster) is 1,041,000 copies and Recovery is gaining at a pace of 64,000 copies per week.
There are 12 weeks left and let's say it keeps gaining 64,000 per week:
12 x 64,000 = 768,000 copies.

The album got added to iTunes 11 PM Sunday night. Meaning those extra sales came from people who bought the album before 12 AM.

Firework could potentially be huge but I don't think it will. It's very monotonous to me, I find the song incredibly tedious to listen to. I think it will irritate people, it certainly doesn't have the appeal of the first two singles IMO.

So only 5 people bought the album in an hour? Strange.
One more question, new releases are added at midnight New York time, right? So that means if a song is added on Monday midnight, all downloads people from L.A. time zone made within the first 3 hours won't be counted for that week?
