At this point I don't think we will have a new album for this year  
If she releases the album early next year the album probably won't go platinum unless she works for it and do a decent promo this time. But I don't see it happening. That's why she needs to release on November/December to get the holiday sales.

Excuse Me? Well at least Shakira sells tickets, wasnt Rihanna who was facing some empty arenas? Oops.
And lemme say that She Wolf was bigger than Russian Roulette or Hard, and btw shakira managed to sell over 2M just like Rihanna, so no, she won't flop. With Britney is another story, and Im not here to put them against eachother. Now keep Shakira out of your mouth if you gon say **** like that.

Why is everyone doubting her????
She is BRITNEY SPEARS. All she needs is a hot ass track, and some simple promo and that's easily 400k+ in February. Promo is not going to make people go buy a Britney album. When they see the song on iTunes and see the album and whatever promo she does, they will decide to buy it.
I puke at anyone saying a Britney album won't go Platinum.

An early release next year, gives us a FULL YEAR OF SALES. If they release early next year, as I and Steven said before, then they obviously have DIFFERENT INTENTIONS as far as the promotional circuit goes. Because we all know they release during Holiday spree to get quick sales. If they release late Winter/Spring, they know that's not the biggest sales time, but with BRITNEY, they know they could get major sales with promo. That also gives time for a big tour throughout the Fall/Winter when they are most profitable, and of course, again FULL YEAR OF SALES.
She can easily achieve 2 - 2.5 million releasing early 2011. If she releases at the end of this year, more than likely it'll be more of the same as it's been since 2001. Album releases, we get some promo, the first couple singles SMASH. Then 3rd and beyond singles do okay because they are satisfied with her going Platinum in 4 weeks, and some average sales.

Couldn't have said better.
I really hope if it's not this year, then we get it by Summer, so she'll have more chances of hitting 3 million again in the U.S. with some promo continuing until the Holiday sales peak...
