**Movie: SAW 3D - new release date, teaser trailer and poster [other thread]

Straight from Comic-Con, the teaser trailer for the final chapter in the Saw series, Saw 3D.

"Saw" is making its final cut.

"Saw 3D," the seventh film in the horror franchise, will also be its last, USA Today reports. The film's producers and star Tobin Bell are expected to make the announcement at Comic Con this Friday, when they present the first footage from the 3D thriller.

"It's time to stop," said producer Oren Koules. "We have told the story we wanted to tell, and this is going to be a great farewell."

That story stretches back all the way to 2004, when James Wan's made-for-pennies original "Saw" became a sleeper Halloween hit. Starring Cary Elwes, Danny Glover, and a pre-"Lost" Michael Emerson and Ken Leung, the film presented the serial-killer format in a chilling new light: two strangers woke up chained to pipes in a bathroom and discovered through a series of games that they'd have to saw off their own foot to escape, or innocents on the outside would be killed.

The film spawned five sequels and a slew of imitators, and is largely credited with creating the "torture ****" genre. And its storytelling (and death traps) has grown increasingly complex over time. Jigsaw (Bell), the film's serial killer, died at the end of "Saw III," but flashbacks and recordings have allowed the producers to continually cast Bell in the films; since "Saw II" he has been the male lead of every installment.

Still, USA Today reports that after last year's "Saw VI" only brought in about $28 million (half the take of the others), the producers felt it was time to bring the enterprise to a halt.

"Saw 3D" brings the story full circle, as Elwes' character returns to head up a support group for Jigsaw survivors. And the series' complex storytelling method (the films' narratives continually intersect with their predecessors; one film's twist was – spoiler alert -- that it occurred at the same time as, and not after, the events of the previous "Saw") will finally pay dividends. Koules, who worked on all seven films, intends to leave no stone unturned when it comes to resolving the story.

"It answers all the questions, it comes full circle," he told USA Today. "We have the goods on this one."

I haven't even watched Saw VI. I own it on Blu Ray but i'm just not interested in the series anymore. It took me forever to watch Saw V and i have yet to watch Saw VI.

BUT i have to watch this. Going to watch VI soon. DOCTOR GORDON IS FINALLY BACK!!!!!!

SAw VI was spectacular, the first game in Saw VI was horrible!
SAW VII hoping to see more people die with no mercy and expecting some twist!
But i guess this would nt be the last!

i agree, the first trap in the 6th movie was horrible. honestly, it was a bit too much.

but as for your second comment, i read that unlike the past movies that have had about 5-6 traps, this last movie will have about 11 traps total so expect a bunch more deaths!

and yes, i hope there is an amazing twist that makes the whole series worth it.

the twist is going to be......IT WAS ALL IMAGINATION. He was imagining the whole thing while at the doctors office when he was waiting for his results.
