Yeah, it does look fake and I hope it is. Katy looks rude in that picture, I hope on the actual cover she looks bubbly, happy and girly.

If she's trying to sell more albums, she's going about it all wrong. The only way artists sell albums these days is by either being distinctive (GaGa, Drake, etc.) or by crafting very heartfelt, straightforward pop (Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift). Dr. Luke/Max Martin will only yield big hits, not big album sales. Kelly Clarkson and Ke$ha are two major examples of that. And if Katy is trying to follow in Madonna/GaGa's footsteps, she can't retrogress, which is exactly what she's doing with this album so far.

But am I the only one who HATES the album title?
Even though she says it's about falling in love LIKE you were a teenager, it seems like a bid to appeal to teens/kids...and she's too old.
|
Teenage Dream is a phrase talking about all the stuff you used to dream about..when you were a Teenager. GaGa uses the phrase in a line of the song "The Fame".

But about Katy, OOTB sold pretty well for what it was. Even without a rerelease, it sold 1.2 million copies with three top ten singles. And it's still selling today, it was in the Top 200 albums last week.
|
OOTB had too many fillers. There were amazing tracks but also boring ones.
She has completely changed her sound which I don't really like. Too many artists sell out. I'd list a few but it will surely start stan wars.

that is not true.
Katy Perry, One Of The Boys.
7. Hot N Cold.
and there's many more. it's retarded to say that singles are the first tracks on the albums.

Who Am I Living For makes me think it's something like Lost. Not in terms of meaning, but in terms of melody and other stuff.

I see she's incapable of writing songs now without a bevy of other writers...

i actually wouldn't have a problem with the tracklisting because most songs are written by teams of "four" but Katy pretty much wrote her debut by herself. Now we have this.

I'm surprised that Snoopy doesn't have a writing credit for CG since he came up with the bridge.
...Or so we thought.

what's wrong with collaborating with other people to write songs? she's always done that
"I Kissed a Girl" (Katy Perry, Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, Cathy Dennis)
"Waking Up in Vegas" (Katy Perry, Desmond Child, Andreas Carlsson)
"Ur So Gay" (Katy Perry, Greg Wells)
"Hot N Cold" (Katy Perry, Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin)
"If You Can Afford Me" (Katy Perry, Dave Katz, Sam Hollander)
"Lost" (Katy Perry, Ted Bruner)
"Self Inflicted" (Katy Perry, Scott Cutler, Anne Preven)
"I'm Still Breathing" (Katy Perry, David Stewart)
"Fingerprints" (Katy Perry, Greg Wells)

most of those songs had an average of three writers.
3 of the songs were written by herself.
4 of the songs were written with a co-writer.
3 of the songs were written with 2 co-writers.
1 of the songs was written with 3 co-writers.
1 of the songs was written with 4 co-writers.
now lets look at Teenage Dream.
0 of the songs were written by herself.
1 of the songs was written with a co-writer.
2 of the songs were were written with 2 co-writers.
5 of the songs were written with 3 co-writers.
3 of the songs were written with 4 co-writers.
