Just read about the new update so gonna share my finals thoughts on this era and what it means to Rih:
- Anti, What an amazing album. To go from annoyance, skepticism, uncertainty to soooo happy everything was able to come together. Some fans lie and say every recent release is their faves best but this truly is. I'm still not sick of playing it where by this time I stopped listening to UNA.
- Tour, Commercially I wish it was her most successful to date but hey **** happens. With the way things were in the beginning of the era it's no surprise something had to suffer. Either way I really enjoyed my show and found the minimalist setup to be cool. One thing I was missing was interludes between sets. Going forward I think we ALL can agree touring is a key area she needs to work on.
- Acclaim, The best thing about reading all the articles praising the tour and album is many of the points were things is fans already knew about Rih. It's great to see others finally give her her props. I'm content knowing she'll never be "a critics darling" in the sense that people praise everything little thing she does because it shows she had to put in the work for it.
- Awards, Is this the most awards she's won during an era? Saw a post somewhere saying she received 12 so far.. With Grammys coming hoping she adds 3 more to the list.
- Social Media/ Personal life, I may be in the minority but I LOVE that Rih has become super private. As entertaining as her clapbacks were there was a point where it painted this negative picture of her being a "social media bully". Which was messed up cause 9/10 she was defending herself after someone came for her. Even fans have been messy creating drama for her online so it's great to see her pull back from social media and take a mysterious approach.
Makes me excited for what's to come, since we have no clue what she's up to these days.
- Acting, I love that she's doing a variety of small roles instead of jumping to be the lead in a movie. I think this method will help her build a legitimate career in acting. With Bates coming out first I think it can set a nice tone for the reception to Oceans & Valerian
- Fashion, Not much to say here. She's become such a icon in this industry it's crazy, Rih really influences 90% of the way females dress from other celebrities to everyday people. With the uber success of FentyxPuma I do hope her own couture line is in the works (2-3 years). Bitch better get a Vogue Paris & September Vogue & another MET Gala special. Would be dope if her and Naomi teamed up to start a new ball that celebrates fashion, idk I want Rih to do something really legendary
