the fame/monster may be dated when it comes to production but it definitely has her best writing and melodies like that's obvious
And it people saying "but it's about PARTY AND ALCOHOL not deep enough!!!1!1"
the way gaga used to be the champion of dance pop, showing that there can be multiple layers and messages worked into smart self aware yet dance-floor ready pop songs and now people are defending her like they would celine dion
I've been nice to Gaga this era and I bought her album but Joanne is truly awful. You can tell she thought this reinvention would be as strategically successful as Madonna's ones in the past.
Coldplay is in a tough spot in America. Not rock enough to be accepted by the rockers, not pop enough for Top 40, not cool enough for hipsters, and not country or urban for country or r&b radio. Usually, you have to fit one of those boxes neatly to have an audience.
They mainly get airplay here on oldies and alternative pop stations. It's mostly middle aged moneyed types and WASPy college co-ed girls who listen to those Lite FM esque stations and stan Coldplay. Kinda like the John Mayer stans

You're giving me a million reasons to let you go
You're giving me a million reasons to quit the show
You're givin' me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin' me a million reasons
About a million reasons
Gaga's songwriting is at its best when it's playful and sexy. Ever since she became under the impression that she is a ~DeEe3p ArtiSte ~ (BTW onwards) she's sunk hard.
You're giving me a million reasons to let you go
You're giving me a million reasons to quit the show
You're givin' me a million reasons
Give me a million reasons
Givin' me a million reasons
About a million reasons
real lyrics
Quote:
Got a baby sister who looks just like me
She wants nothing more than a man to please
Maybe she's in too deep
Her love for him ain't cheap
But it breaks just like a knockoff piece from Fulton Street
real music
(Sinners prayer is one of the worst songs of her courier btw)
The Fame would have been a underground favorite like Joanne without the visuals.
I don't think Gaga knows what's true to her. Is it dance pop? Rock? Jazz? She genuinely likes all three but is struggling to mix up her talent with a genre she actually enjoys. She has the Xtina syndrome..
