This is so laughable at this point, really. Literally nobody's doing what she's doing so artists still rely on traditional marketing. Literally nobody did the "surprise release" after she did it, literally nobody did the "visual" type of release she did. Like... where are all these opinions about changing anything are coming from? She literally had no impact and didn't change anything (except her ways of releasing albums) with these releases because nobody did them after. Can somebody explain to me if they have more receipts? No shade, no hate but all this praise for nothing seems so exaggerated to me and it doesn't seem authentic at all.

U2
Drake
Frank Ocean
James Blake
1D
Kendrick Lamar
JCole
Miley
Chance The Rapper
Prince
Kanye West
Michael Cera
Etc...
And now artists are putting out visual albums, MTV created a category due to it, including Justin B, Drake, Frank, Florence and the machine etc
To digital drops Rihanna, Frank, Drake etc
To non-release dates, most artists don't announce their set release dates anymore
Artists don't wait for 4 months after the first single to put the album out like before
Beyoncé even inspired AHS surprise season

Pre-Beyoncé, artists relied on traditional marketing for new music: lead single, radio spins, TV appearances and the announcement of a set release date.

Adele's 25 comeback wasn't the "traditional marketing"
Rihanna with Anti wasn't the "traditional marketing"
Even if artists don't do exactly what Beyoncé did, their marketing is different from the usual traditional way, which was. Billboard's point. Thanks to Bey. Heck she help inspire the global release date.
Marketing music is different you'll be a fool to say otherwise.
