It depends on where her career goes over the coming years. As of now I think she's still mostly known for the whole Fame era and the big hits that came out of it. She peaked early and has struggled to reach those heights again.
But I think she's a hustler and will keep herself relevant one way or another. With time comes respect and maybe legendary status. She has iconic status in the bag.
She and Beyonce are the best in the industry right now. So whether she under performs or not, she will become one of the greatest like Patti Labelle, Cher, Tina Turner, and Aretha Franklin. Because of her talent alone.
