Racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. has a lot to do with it (especially in the South), but I think there are a lot of uneducated ones as well.
Democrats also have shown itself as the party of globalization while Republicans hide itself being "nationalism" and "patriotism" making it seem like they are the party of the little guy.
I don't think Democrats can return to FDR/Truman policies (which Republicans actually want. IRONIC) and still be the party of the future as you can tell we want to be.
I believe a lot of WWC want tax cuts. They view Dems as devils who take their money away, so they vote for GOP's. But they dont realize that they don't pay a lot of tax in the first place. They may save a couple of hundreds a year, but they are screwed by GOP in other matters like they cannot send their children to college.
I never understood the aversion to taxes tbh. If it was high yeah but I only ever seen high taxes near major cities.
The companies will just pass this tax onto consumers to pay or we end up paying higher prices to support the production of goods in the US. It's a policy that results in the loss of consumer welfare

Only if you get nothing in return. In many countries you're taxed well but you get free healthcare in the cases of chronic illnesses and free higher education and infrastructure improvements. Doesn't sound like theft to me.
