Anyone think that radio blacklisting Gaga like this has to do with the fact that we are living in this weird time where conservatism and weird republican values seem to be taking over? Is Gaga's singles failing symbolic? When she was slaying we were living in a time were the US had just elected a black president for the first time, gay exposure was becoming mainstream on media etc..but now there is this weird conservative tension in the air in north america and europe.... oh Gaga...

But then again she is doing the superbowl...so...

You've been here since 2011. Have you never heard of these two little terms called PAYOLA and PLAYLISTS? that's where Bobby is failing at miserably. Like other members have mentioned across this thread and the Joanne thread...Bobby is a great manager..until it comes down to singles.

Gaga is not popular or trendy amongst young pop listeners anymore. That's why the lead single was so important (actually VITAL to her career) because that's the main chance an artist has at a comeback. As in there was actual hype, expectation, and the opportunity to win radio and listeners back after a long break, and with a new sound.

But she completely blew that chance and so the remaining singles are pretty much written off, I think.

Payola does not exist like people think it does otherwise no major artist would ever flop. Rihanna and Katy have been radio darlings for 5+ years and they still flop regularly.

Likewise, nobody actually knows how the spotify playlists work, it's complete speculation.

I hope Gaga knows about this situation, knows that radio refuses to play her inspiring SMASH Million Reasons, knows that because of it poor migrant women from Saudi Arabia can't hear that inspiring song on the US radio before they get PUNCHED by their husbands who came back from work.

Her label just needs to invest in the song to just give it a start on radio like it happens with all songs. Nothing is free.

The song is responding to promo so given enough of it, there is always the chance this will SLOWLY gain traction and become a sleeper hit.

Radio just need to get some call out scores + listener info and watch the iTunes chart and maybe they will give it a chance.

Begging for her label to plough in useless cash to the single campaign is unrealistic, chances are it would be a waste of money. It needs to take off organically.
