At least the south and west kinda came through.
Texas was 10 points less Republican than 2012 compared to the national average. Georgia 6 points less. Arizona 9 points less.
Texas was nearly as close as Ohio and closer than Iowa! Hillary was way closer to winning Arizona and Georgia than either of those traditional swing states. If only her internal polling was accurate, the strategy would have been completely different.
We can't even presume that this was just a blip because of a weird campaign. We don't know that the rust belt will flip back blue and the sun belt will flip back red. The electoral map could be changing faster than anyone predicted.
