I can understand a GaGa/Ke$ha comparison but comparing them to Black Eyed Peas Usher is just

Not only is it his first hit off an album which has yet to scan Gold, but it's already been heavily promoted Ke$ha has also promoted YLIMD and Animal is at 600k, while GaGa has had no promo and 2.5mill already have it through album sales.

Oh and last but not least, it's good for GaGa if they peak in downloads now

Well.....I mean....

Usher performed "OMG" on Idol. Ke$ha performed "Your Love is My Drug" on SNL. GaGa hasn't performed anywhere. So she's doing pretty damn well...

Just wait until after her Idol performance and she's in the Top 3.

I feel the exact opposite, Alejandro is doing far better at this stage then I would have expected it to. Both its sales and airplay are climbing at a steady pace, so I'm not worried. If anything I think it is better that it is selling as it is now, because now sales are more likely to be more compact when the video is released and after she performs on Idol, rather than being spread out over a large period of time. It's definitely going to go top ten.

Oh ok, right click the bar at the top that says Name/Artist etc and then click on Popularity on the list that will come up.

The Idol performance is going to have a major impact, it's going to shoot towards the top after it. I think a Top 5 peak on the Hot 100 is realistic, Top 10 at worst

I do have a tendency to be pessimistic. Not just for Gaga, in real life too.

However I also try to be realistic.

Imo ALEJANDO is not the kind of song that burns up iTunes, and I'm actually surprised it's even at #17 right now. MONSTER has greater hit-potential and youth appeal.

I can see it go top 5 on iTunes after a video and Idol (like TELEPHONE, which I always said wouldn't be a monster smash from the very getgo and got dissed for) but I have trouble seeing it hit #1 on iTunes, which is what defines "smashing."

We'll see, hopefully I'm wrong.
