Britney had an entire legendary career, including worldwide fame and acclaim before Gaga even released her first single. She's sold 100 million albums and 100 million singles. So your fave sold a few extra thousand albums than her this year...good on her! Is she on Forbes 2016 Highest-Paid Female Artists of 2016? I don't spot her on the list, but maybe she's further down? Britney is an entrepreneur with an ESTABLISHED business around her talent.
Lady Gaga is barely starting to develop that and she's already seeing trouble. Perfect Illusion and Million Reasons are not songs which will resonate with the public at large. And that may be okay for an indie act, but it's not feasible for an artist whose ambitions included performing at the ****ing Super Bowl.
