Personally I think the 80's has some true classics but overall it is one of the not-so-good decades in music. Every time an 80's song comes on a throwback radio station, I don't even have to know the song and I'll know it's from that era because every 80's song has that really tacky dated sound. I don't know how to exactly explain it... it's something in the production that makes the song sound cheap.... Kind of like what this current decade's music will sound like in 2030.....

to be fair in this generation I think Prince is known for just being Prince. I can't name a song of his from the top of my head except Purple Rain (but I don't know how it goes).

Cyndi Lauper was an easy one though.
