You guys keep talking about mismanaging as if they didn't release the album at the last possible second and she didn't have to go on tour right after

Everything about the pre-era was either planned in advance (AO video, FFS video, Grammys performance, cancelled Brits performance) or shot with unlimited time (BBHMM video). None of that was possible come January 2016

Beyond that, if you look at the leaked Samsung posters/plans in conjunction with the cancelled/useless promo from last Fall... there was clearly a legitimate plan that was abandoned..

Anti DIary (launched when the album was released and presumably done faster? idk)
Probably the AMA's
Grammy's
Brits
Samsung deals (ANTI/product bundles, ANTI/concert tickets bundles)

I don't know why, but I feel like it has a big chance to be nominated. It's a cover of an acclaimed rock song originally done by a rock band. And her version was acclaimed as well. It won't win anyway, but it would be cool if it gets nominated.

Deemy knows someone in the Rock brand and confirmed the Don't Hurt Yourself submissions a few says ago. if he finds out that SOM was actually submitted then I'll believe the new list. Until then I'm skeptical.

I actually forgot that she did The Voice. She also scrapped tour with Kanye, but that was never officially confirmed.
She should have released Love On The Brain as lead in January 2015, Grammys + Brits, album in April/May, SNL (same time when she performed BBHMM and AO), a few talk shows (Ellen + Jimmy Kimmel).
This whole era is such a mess and I'm surprised that it did fine considering everything that happened before.

I think the biggest solution to each and every one of the problems from this era is finishing the album and locking that **** down before doing ANYTHING.

Def Jam forced her to have those albums READY. She wasn't going to release a lead single with only half the album done. At the very least they needed a track list with 90% of the music finished. That way they could come up with promo plans and force her to tweak things (ex: them asking her to add a generic song to UNA --> her calling Ne-Yo up after Diamonds came out --> him throwing RN together for her). Plus you usually discuss the album when promoting the lead single and you can't do that if the album is nowhere near completion

Imagine if she had released FFS and been forced into keeping the January 2015 version of yjr album all those delays would've been pointless because she could only tweak, not get rid of songs/record new material.

Instead since she was in charge, she kept recording and changing things... only for ANTI to be 50% songs from 2014. Kii.

I think we all know by now when it comes to promo Rih has the final say. If she doesn't feel like going to X, Y, Z show then it's simply not gonna happen. RocNation has but so much leverage in that aspect.

But it's weird cause with the exception of new employees for FENTYCorp she has the same team around her. Yet I feel her concepts and the launches of her collections they are executed perfectly but when it comes to the music it's like the creative team ran out of ideas.

They need to find that disconnect and fix it. A megastar like Rihanna should never have a mismanaged era like Anti /AWT was in the beginning stages.

Now focusing on acting is the perfect "side job" like she did with fashion before Anti. I'm hoping being around all these different directors, actresses will give her ideas going forward that she can possibly use for future music eras.

It's like the bigger priority for Rih and her team is fashion tbh.

I honestly feel like they have this mindset that Rih has achieved so much in music that there's really no reason for them to push harder and expand things.
